Help Ahead is the centralized resource and intake line for infant, child, youth and family mental health and well-being services in Toronto. We offer access to one-off counselling sessions, information and intake to ongoing support and programs. We are not an urgent crisis service.

Black Youth Helpline
More than a “Helpline” and serving all youth, our “Helpline” serves as the point of contact to our professional services from youth, families, school districts and a variety of youth serving stakeholders.

Canadian Indian Residential School Crisis Line
This line is a free, confidential and culturally safe crisis line providing emotional and crisis support to Indian Residential School Survivors, intergenerational Survivors, their families and Indigenous communities.
Trained Indigenous counsellors and support workers can provide immediate emotional support, crisis intervention, grounding and referrals to culturally relevant services.

Distress Centres of Greater Toronto
Distress Centres of Greater Toronto provides 24-hour support, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to individuals in our community at risk and their most vulnerable.
408-Help Whether you’re struggling with overwhelming emotional distress, social marginalization and mistreatment, or having thoughts of suicide, our 408 helpline allows you to connect with our well-trained volunteer responders who can provide you with timely support.
Gerstein Crisis Centre
For adults 16+ in the City of Toronto who are dealing with mental health, concurrent, or substance use issues and are currently in crisis.
Our services include 24/7 telephone support, in-person mobile crisis team, community support referrals, substance use crisis management, follow-up and access to short-term crisis beds.
Over-the-phone interpretation services are available 24/7 in over 180 languages through RIO Network.

Hope for Wellness Helpline
Hope for Wellness Helpline is a free, confidential and culturally safe service available to all Indigenous people across Canada.
Experienced counsellors are available by telephone and online chat to provide immediate emotional support, crisis intervention and referrals to community-based services.
Support is available in English and French, as well as Cree, Ojibwe and Inuktitut by request.
Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Kids Help Phone
Kids Help Phone is Canada’s 24/7 e-mental health service offering free, confidential support to young people in English and French.
We’re here for kids, teens and young adults from coast to coast to coast and offer the following immediate support:

- Getting support from a crisis responder through Facebook Messenger.

LGBTTQQ2SI YouthLine

We offer help in multiple languages. Our trained volunteers are happy to assist individuals in the areas of emotional distress, relationship issues, and life changes. We strive to create a welcoming environment for people of all backgrounds, cultures, and languages.

Suicide Crisis Helpline

Toronto Community Crisis Service
It’s Okay to Ask for Help
The Toronto Community Crisis Service (TCCS) provides free, confidential, in-person mental health supports city-wide from mobile crisis worker teams.
TCCS supports Toronto residents 16 years of age or older and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The service provides a non-police-led, community-based, client focused, and trauma-informed response to mental health crisis calls and wellness checks. A trauma informed approach promotes healing and recovery and takes into account a client’s life experiences.
TCCS also provides:
- referrals and connections to other services
- resources and information
- post-crisis follow-up supports

Toronto Rape Crisis Centre
A trained and experienced peer counsellor is available to speak with any and all survivors of sexual and gender-based violence and their supporters, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our counsellors are here to listen to you, hold space, and offer emotional support.

Trans Life Line
Trans Lifeline is a free, confidential and anonymous peer support hotline run by and for trans and questioning people. Trained trans and nonbinary peer operators provide emotional support, crisis assistance and connections to community resources.
